Why Dragonfly? 

The dragonfly, in almost every part of the world symbolizes change in the perspective of self realization;  the kind of change that has its source in mental and emotional maturity and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life.  

The traditional association of dragonflies with water also gives rise to this meaning to this amazing creature. The dragonfly’s scurrying flight across water represents an act of going beyond what’s on the surface and looking into the deeper implications and aspects of life. The dragonfly totem carries the wisdom of transformation and adaptablity in life.

They are a symbol of metamorphosis and transformation, inspiring us to bring about changes needed in our lives in order to reach our full potential. Dragonflies are the keepers of dreams, the energy within that sees all of our true potential and ability, reminding us that anything is possible.

​Mary Ann is happy to share that "Dragonflies are dear to my heart as I began to see them all around me when my brother, Tony, died 27 years ago. When my father died 3 years ago, I saw dragonflies in tandem. This is my sign from above that they are both always with me, watching over me, protecting me, loving me, and giving me hope that all will be okay. I dedicate our studio to all who have gone before us."

   "I took my first yoga class in 1998 and found an instant connection. I struggled with neck/shoulder pain for years and for the first time found relief. I continued to practice and realized that the benefits of yoga were more than physical. I acquired tools that help me deal with the stress of every day life and wanted to share what I learned, loved, and experienced with others by becoming a yoga teacher.

   My purpose as a yoga guide is to teach people how to re-invest in themselves through the practice of stillness, sitting with the breath and mindful movement so they too can live their own best life regardless of their age, physical limitations, body type or skill level. My teaching style has a strong emphasis on alignment, using props when necessary and setting intentions throughout the practice to reinforce the importance of creating balance in this crazy chaotic world we live in."

I have been practicing yoga for more than 20 years, although not continuously.  I recently decided to enhance my personal practice and completed teacher training offered by Dragonfly Yoga and Pilates.  As training progressed, I finally understood that yoga was not about the poses but the ability to use movement with breath.  I realized that I was on a journey and it has enabled me to connect mind, body and spirit to experience a state of calm and peace.  It is my desire to share this experience with others.

Erica’s love affair with yoga began when she started practicing as an Orlando Magic Dancer in 2004.  Immediately she began to see her practice help her through the stress of being a professional dancer as well as help her through almost career ending injuries. As her practice began to develop, she felt a deep connection between her and her mat.  This led her to hunger for more knowledge of yoga.  In 2015, she decided it was time to move on from her professional dancing career that consisted of dancing as an equity dancer at Walt Disney world, universal Orlando, cirque du Soleil, sea world Orlando, and many other prestigious dance jobs, and decided to travel to Bali, Indonesia.  After practicing there she decided she wanted to share her love of yoga with others and take the next step in becoming a certified yoga teacher.   Erica is certified to teach vinyasa, Hatha, yoga nidra, stand up paddle board yoga, and children’s yoga.   As her life has ebbed and flowed, so has her practice.  She has seen it change and grow alongside her life.

Sue first explored yoga as a teenager, however it wasn’t until the last 12 years, as she rediscovered it, that it became her passion and an integral part of her life. As her practice developed, she quickly realized the depth of well-being made possible through yoga. Physical strength, flexibility, self-awareness anda sense ofcalm are just a few of the benefits she has found. Sue has also found the practice of yoga to be in harmony with her experiences of living abroad and working to understand and appreciate other cultures.

“My passion for Pilates began when Pilates based exercise was added into my rehabilitation for an injury I sustained to my back.  It was then that I began to understand how physical improvement enhances our emotional well- being. Simply put ”I was hooked.”  Following my experience as a rehab patient, I pursued and went on to complete my Pilates education through Polestar Pilates and now practice as a Polestar Pilates Rehab Practitioner.

I am a physical therapist with more then 10 years of clinical experience. I hold a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Florida Gulf Coast University and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy with a specialization in manual therapy from the University of St. Augustine. 

As a Pilates teacher, my goal is to promote mindful, safe, effective movement as well as promote health and well being through the practice of Pilates exercise. I believe in Pilates both professionally and personally, it is a part of my daily life!”

My introduction to yoga started with an exercise tape featuring Ali MacGraw, the actress. She shared,  “Every once in a while something comes along that changes your life……Yoga.” Little did I know how right she was. I have practiced primary and the first half of second series Ashtanga, as well as Hatha yoga, for the past 15 years. It is a great honor to bring my passion for yoga to help others experience the good health, joy and peace that comes through practice. Just breathe. Namaste

 I have been teaching in the fitness industry for over 35 years, and am passionate about helping others to be the best that they can be! Although I have practiced yoga off and on for many decades, I  transitioned into teaching yoga after sustaining an injury 15 years ago. I soon realized that mindful movement, breath, and living in the moment were key to a more balanced life. I love yoga for its physical as well as its mental challenges.
